Sagres Point

The Sagres Point is located in the Algarve region, next to Cape St. Vincent. You can explore the 16th century fortress, where you will find a giant pebble compass rose of 43m diameter, just passing the tunnel entrance. The interesting feature about this compass rose, is that it is divided into 40 sections instead of 32, and it is considered to date back to the times of Henry the Navigator.

Albufeira

Albufeira is a city in the Algarve region of Portugal, on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, and is one of the leading tourist resorts of the region. You will find an interesting mix between narrow streets with pale white tiled houses and very modern tourist developments, like a marina, golf courses, hotels, etc. The nightlife is complete around here, and don't miss the local specialties, cataplana (steamed shellfish) and caldeirada (fish stew).

Vasco da Gama Tower

The Vasco da Gama Tower in Lisbon is 476ft high, built over the Tagus river and named after Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama. It was built in 1998 for the Expo 98 World's Fair, by Leonor Janeiro, Nick Jacobs and SOM, with its steel structure resembling a sail of a caravel, there is an observation deck, a luxury panoramic restaurant, an a 3 story building. The tower is the tallest structure in Portugal open to the public, excluding the bridges.
